Breaker, Breaker...We Have An Eyebrow Down

I should have heeded the words of my blogger friends. I wrote a post a while back about a home waxing kit that I bought. I used the quick strips to do my eyebrows that weekend and they looked great! I shape them by plucking but I go get them done every once in a blue moon just to make the shape nicer, you know? Anyhow, I decided at about 10:00pm last night that I would wax them again. All was going well until I went into the curve to get a few hairs. I cannot describe to you the emotions I experienced when I pulled the strip off! For starters, it was painful since I pulled a big chunk of the part of my brow that has never been removed before. PRETTY! So, after my mini stroke (and a quiet streak of curse words), I took a close look and tried to move what I had around to cover the error. Of course, I had to thin out the other brow to match. I asked Di this morning at work if she could tell. She said that she noticed they were plucked, but didn't notice the missing hair until I said something. The boyfriend, on the other hand, had a good chuckle when I came out of the bathroom last night. Can't blame him, really. Kinda serves me right. I'm thinking I will just go ahead and shell out the cash next time. Sometimes I have to just learn from my mistakes...ridiculous!

Been there - done that.

I waxed my own brow about a month ago. It looked fine. But I'd rather pluck the crap out of my brows to get the job done more precisely.

don't give up, your mistake was not your handywork- it was the 10:00 on Sunday night.

i'm a huge fan of at home waxing... my 18 year old bro shows up sometimes for a freebe.

ps. the brazilian can NEVER be a do it yourself job though.

That is why I ALWAYS pay to have it done....because I have been there and done that as well..and NEVER again. It will grow back...so look on the bright side.

Oh boy...if I tried this myself, I'd end up with no brows and wax covering the entire bathroom

Girlie.... I'm so sorry and I can totally sympathize!

I had it even worse. I found myself unconsciously pulling at my eyebrows until I had actually plucked myself BALD!! Yeah... did you know it takes 6 weeks for an eyebrow hair to grow back?....sigh.....

Good luck with that! ;)

I have had the same experience, except for everything you describe here.

Have I ever told you that I love your taste in music? Actually the first time you mentioned doing this by yourself I actually thought that it sounded a bit risky.

suze~yep, and it sucks

ambiguous blob~I like to pluck as well, just playing with a new "toy" is all.

practically perfect~it was late and I should have just heated the wax and used the stick. would have been more precise. i have done the bikini also, but would definately leave the brazillian to a pro.

tray~haha, it's ok, if you did it I would laugh at you too...i mean with you.

mom of 3~probably a very prudent idea.

GB~i am a clumsy gal, but surprisingly I still feel confident with this sort of thing...just feeling silly for not taking the time to do it right.

pinkpiddypaws~oh no! that would be really bad. my eyebrows are very dark and i can't imagine having nothing.

pistols~i once knew a guy who burned/blew his eyebrows off in some sort of crazy stunt. maybe that would be more your speed? of topic but I have to tell you that I love bacon too.

sid~it was your comment last time that I thought of when the incident occured. that's cool about the music. i love music. i have to check out the song from your blog entry a couple days ago.
